New Discoveries Reveal the Mysteries of King Tut

The results of a two-year study of the mummy of Tutankhamun have not only revealed stunning facts about the pharaoh's life and health, but changed the way several key objects in the exhibition Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs can be interpreted as well. You can download a brochure (PDF, 388KB) that highlights these discoveries and how they affect the objects on view, and of course attend the lecture by Dr. Zahi Hawass at San Francisco's War Memorial Opera House on Monday, March 8, at 7:30 pm.

Tuesday through Sunday, 9 am to 6:30 pm; until 8:45 pm on Fridays. Mondays reserved for school groups.
Extended hours on last two weekends of the exhibition: Saturday, March 20 and 27 and Sunday, March 28, 9 am to 9 pm (last entry at 7:30 pm)

Shuttle Bus Service to King Tut

On weekends and holidays, a fleet of 24-seat, ADA-accessible, alternative fuel buses will pick up and drop off visitors at various locations in and around Golden Gate Park.

Cost: $2 per visitor per day

Exact change required; ADA riders will be served on a complimentary basis. Cost not eligible for de Young or California Academy of Sciences transportation discounts.

Pharaoh's Gold Card
